Native to the Andean regions of Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador, this ancient seed is a nutrient dense, gluten-free alternative to grains. Although referred to as the "Mother of all Grains" according to the Incas, it is technically not classified as a true grain or cereal from the grass family, but is related to foods such as spinach and beets. Sprouted Quinoa is not only a superfood loaded with incredible nutrition, it is delicious to eat and easy to digest. Sprouting unlocks the nutrition in the seed, significantly increasing vitamins, minerals and enzymes as well as decreasing phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors present in the raw seed. Low temperature air-drying ensures that the vital enzymes and nutrients stay intact. The result is the most digestible, nourishing superfood that will keep you satisfied and strong. It is an indispensable staple for those on a gluten free diet and because of the sprouting process it does not require any washing, rinsing or soaking and it is ready to use, raw sprouted or cooked. This delicately nutty seed cooks within 15 minutes. It is delicious on its own or one can add it to soups, salads, wraps, stir-fries, stews and curries. Quinoa makes a great alternative to oatmeal and other morning cereals. Add Organic Traditions Sprouted Chia Powder, Organic Traditions, Goji Berries, Organic Traditions Golden Berries, Organic Traditions Vanilla Powder and a drizzle of Organic Traditions Yacon Syrup to sweeten. Quinoa also makes a great flour substitute. Pulse the sprouted seeds in a coffee grinder to make fluffy gluten-free flour. IngredientsOrganic sprouted quinoa seeds. Allergens: Packaged in a facility with the following allergens present: tree nuts, sesame. Suggested Use1 1/3 cup water to 1 cup quinoa. Antique White Quinoa is an incredible grain providing all nine essential amino acids, protein, and is an excellent source of fiber per serving. As antique White Quinoa matures in the field, the plant turns to shades of fiery red and orange. The plant produces a soft, off-white seed that is mildly sweet to the taste and cooks up fluffy in 15 minutes. It makes a great meal or side dish, or can be used as a base to create your own special recipes.IngredientsOrganic quinoa.Suggested UseIn a fine mesh sieve, thoroughly rinse 1 cup of quinoa under cold water until the water runs clear. Place quinoa in a medium saucepan with 1 1/4 cup water or broth and bring to a fast simmer. Cover with a tight-fitting lid. Reduce heat to maintain a low simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat (keep covered) and steam for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve. If quinoa is too firm at the end of cooking, it may be necessary to add 1-2 Tbsp. liquid and cook longer. Quinoa can be prepared in a rice cooker following the same quinoa to water ratio as above. We recommend refrigeration for extended shelf life. Supplement FactsSupplement FactsServing Size: 1/4 cup (dry) (45 g)Servings Per Container: About 10 Amount Per Serving%Daily Value*Calories 170 Total Fat 2 g 3%Sat.
